The Live for Evan team was formed by a close-knit group of Evan’s friends determined to honor his life in a way that will leave the lasting legacy he deserves. Each of us cherish precious memories of Evan that span from our early years of elementary school to the latter years of college, and it is our mission as a team to keep those memories alive.

As a group, we began participating in active events, such as the Tough Mudder, the Boston Marathon, and various local 5k’s as a way to come together as a team and ‘Live For Evan.’ The feeling of accomplishment and community that these events provided, instilled us with the desire to host our own active lifestyle events in order to spread those feelings to a larger audience.

All proceeds from our events benefit causes aimed at improving the condition of heart patients, both locally and around the globe. We actively seek partnerships with charitable organizations who share this commitment in an effort to impact as many lives as possible.

For the 1st Annual Evan Girardi 5k, we have partnered with the Boston Cardiac Foundation to fund their trip to Paraguay in November 2013. While in Paraguay, their team of doctors will treat numerous heart patients, free of charge, who otherwise would not be able to afford the necessary advanced medical care.
